This document presents a base YANG Data model for the management ofOperations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) protocols that useconnectionless communications. The data model is defined using theYANG data modeling language, as specified in RFC 7950. It provides atechnology-independent abstraction of key OAM constructs for OAMprotocols that use connectionless communication. The base modelpresented here can be extended to include technology-specificdetails.
There are two key benefits of this approach: First, it leads touniformity between OAM protocols. Second, it supports both nestedOAM workflows (i.e., performing OAM functions at the same level ordifferent levels through a unified interface) as well as interactiveOAM workflows (i.e., performing OAM functions at the same levelthrough a unified interface).
