Abstract

The standardization of network configuration interfaces for use withthe Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) or the RESTCONF protocolrequires a structured and secure operating environment that promoteshuman usability and multi-vendor interoperability. There is a needfor standard mechanisms to restrict NETCONF or RESTCONF protocolaccess for particular users to a preconfigured subset of allavailable NETCONF or RESTCONF protocol operations and content. Thisdocument defines such an access control model.

This document obsoletes RFC 6536.
