Abstract

The Content Delivery Network Interconnection (CDNI) Metadatainterface enables interconnected Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) toexchange content distribution metadata in order to enable contentacquisition and delivery. The CDNI Metadata associated with a pieceof content provides a downstream CDN with sufficient information forthe downstream CDN to service content requests on behalf of anupstream CDN. This document describes both a base set of CDNIMetadata and the protocol for exchanging that metadata.
