Abstract

JSON Web Encryption (JWE) represents encrypted content using JSON-based datastructures. Cryptographic algorithms and identifiers foruse with this specification are described in the separate JSON WebAlgorithms (JWA) specification and IANA registries defined by thatspecification. Related digital signature and Message AuthenticationCode (MAC) capabilities are described in the separate JSON WebSignature (JWS) specification.
