The Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol islimited to a total packet size of 4096 bytes. Provisions exist forfragmenting large amounts of authentication data across multiplepackets, via Access-Challenge packets. No similar provisions existfor fragmenting large amounts of authorization data. This documentspecifies how existing RADIUS mechanisms can be leveraged to providethat functionality. These mechanisms are largely compatible withexisting implementations, and they are designed to be invisible toproxies and "fail-safe" to legacy RADIUS Clients and Servers.
