Abstract

Source Address Validation Improvement (SAVI) methods were developedto prevent nodes attached to the same IP link from spoofing eachother's IP addresses, so as to complement ingress filtering withfiner-grained, standardized IP source address validation. Thisdocument is a framework document that describes and motivates thedesign of the SAVI methods. Particular SAVI methods are described inother documents.
