The Intermediate Flow Selection Process is the process of selecting asubset of Flows from all observed Flows. The Intermediate FlowSelection Process may be located at an IP Flow Information Export(IPFIX) Exporter or Collector, or within an IPFIX Mediator. Itreduces the effort of post-processing Flow data and transferring FlowRecords. This document describes motivations for using theIntermediate Flow Selection process and presents Intermediate FlowSelection techniques. It provides an information model forconfiguring Intermediate Flow Selection Process techniques anddiscusses what information about an Intermediate Flow SelectionProcess should be exported.
