This document describes a simple process that allows authors ofInternet-Drafts to record the status of known implementations byincluding an Implementation Status section. This will allowreviewers and working groups to assign due consideration to documentsthat have the benefit of running code, which may serve as evidence ofvaluable experimentation and feedback that have made the implementedprotocols more mature.
The process in this document is offered as an experiment. Authors ofInternet-Drafts are encouraged to consider using the process fortheir documents, and working groups are invited to think aboutapplying the process to all of their protocol specifications. Theauthors of this document intend to collate experiences with thisexperiment and to report them to the community.
For the definition ofStatus,seeRFC 2026.
For the definition ofStream, seeRFC 8729.
