Abstract
This document contains a security assessment of the IETFspecifications of the Internet Protocol version 4 and of a number ofmechanisms and policies in use by popular IPv4 implementations. Itis based on the results of a project carried out by the UK's Centrefor the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI). This document is not an Internet Standards Track specification; it is published forinformational purposes.
