Abstract

This document describes deployment options for activating multicastlistener functions in Proxy Mobile IPv6 domains without modifyingmobility and multicast protocol standards. Similar to home agents inMobile IPv6, Local Mobility Anchors of Proxy Mobile IPv6 serve asmulticast subscription anchor points, while Mobile Access Gatewaysprovide Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) proxy functions. In thisscenario, mobile nodes remain agnostic of multicast mobilityoperations. Support for mobile multicast senders is outside thescope of this document. This document is not an Internet Standards Track specification; it is published for informational purposes.
