Abstract

This document describes a transport independent protocol for themanagement of trust anchors (TAs) and community identifiers stored in atrust anchor store. The protocol makes use of the CryptographicMessage Syntax (CMS), and a digital signature is used to provideintegrity protection and data origin authentication. The protocolcan be used to manage trust anchor stores containing trust anchorsrepresented as Certificate, TBSCertificate, or TrustAnchorInfoobjects. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
