Abstract
This document provides a security framework for Multiprotocol LabelSwitching (MPLS) and Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching(GMPLS) Networks. This document addresses the security aspects thatare relevant in the context of MPLS and GMPLS. It describes thesecurity threats, the related defensive techniques, and themechanisms for detection and reporting. This document emphasizesRSVP-TE and LDP security considerations, as well as inter-AS andinter-provider security considerations for building and maintainingMPLS and GMPLS networks across different domains or differentService Providers. This document is not an Internet Standards Track specification; it is published for informational purposes.
