This document defines a new connectivity precondition for the SessionDescription Protocol (SDP) precondition framework. A connectivityprecondition can be used to delay session establishment ormodification until media stream connectivity has been successfullyverified. The method of verification may vary depending on the typeof transport used for the media. For unreliable datagram transportssuch as UDP, verification involves probing the stream with data orcontrol packets. For reliable connection-oriented transports such asTCP, verification can be achieved simply by successful connectionestablishment or by probing the connection with data or controlpackets, depending on the situation.
