Abstract

This document defines a master key used between a client of theProtocol for carrying Authentication for Network Access (PANA) and anenforcement point, for bootstrapping lower-layer ciphering. Themaster key is derived from the Master Session Key of the ExtensibleAuthentication Protocol as a result of successful PANAauthentication. The master key guarantees cryptographic independenceamong enforcement points bootstrapped from PANA authentication acrossdifferent address families. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
