Abstract

This document specifies an extension to the Real-time TransportControl Protocol (RTCP) to use unicast feedback to a multicastsender. The proposed extension is useful for single-source multicastsessions such as Source-Specific Multicast (SSM) communication wherethe traditional model of many-to-many group communication is eithernot available or not desired. In addition, it can be applied to anygroup that might benefit from a sender-controlled summarizedreporting mechanism. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
