Abstract
The fragmentation and reassembly algorithm specified in the base IPv6specification allows fragments to overlap. This documentdemonstrates the security issues associated with allowing overlapping fragments and updates the IPv6 specification to explicitly forbid overlapping fragments. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
