This memo describes a mechanism to provide a secure binding betweenthe multiple addresses with different prefixes available to a hostwithin a multihomed site. This mechanism employs eitherCryptographically Generated Addresses (CGAs) or a new variant of thesame theme that uses the same format in the addresses. The main ideain the new variant is that information about the multiple prefixes isincluded within the addresses themselves. This is achieved bygenerating the interface identifiers of the addresses of a host ashashes of the available prefixes and a random number. Then, themultiple addresses are generated by prepending the different prefixesto the generated interface identifiers. The result is a set ofaddresses, called Hash-Based Addresses (HBAs), that are inherentlybound to each other. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
