Abstract

Network-based mobility management enables IP mobility for a hostwithout requiring its participation in any mobility-relatedsignaling. The network is responsible for managing IP mobility onbehalf of the host. The mobility entities in the network areresponsible for tracking the movements of the host and initiating therequired mobility signaling on its behalf. This specificationdescribes a network-based mobility management protocol and isreferred to as Proxy Mobile IPv6. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
