Abstract

Na  atualidade, verifica-se que em muitas cidades, especialmente nas mais antigas, existe a mercantilização do patrimônio histórico-cultural pela atividade turística. Diante desta realidade, o artigo tem como objetivo discutir a apropriação dos bens patrimoniais em Londrina-PR que, nos últimos anos, vem investindo no turismo de eventos e negócios na cidade e que, apesar do importante acervo histórico-cultural que possui, e da ampla divulgação, este ainda não é valorizado pela população local e pelos turistas. Através de pesquisa bibliográfica  e trabalho de campo  levantaram-se alguns bens materiais e imateriais, buscando-se analisar a importância dos bens patrimoniais como referenciais identitários para a população, ao mesmo tempo em que possuem um valor econômico, quando apropriados pelo turismo. Em seguida, buscou-se destacar a importância crescente do turismo de eventos  e negócios  em Londrina e como se dá a utilização do patrimônio da cidade, visto que a cidade não desenvolve o turismo cultural. Por fim, foram  sugeridas algumas alternativas de conservação do patrimônio através do desenvolvimento do turismo de eventos e negócios.
