  • Hunting Valley Blizzard Shorts Lady—are you okay, or are you simply built different? Hunting Valley Blizzard Shorts Lady—are you okay, or are you simply built different?
    Humor

In town for Thanksgiving and I’m driving down Chagrin River Road in Hunting Valley during today’s lake-effect blizzard, barely able to see ten feet ahead… and suddenly I spot her.

A woman—maybe 40s or 50s—jogging. In shorts. In the snow. In the middle of the road.
Not on the shoulder. Just full-confidence powering through like a cross between a triathlete and a yeti with cardio goals.

Look, I’m all for personal fitness, but I’m out here challenging my Vredesteins and Quattro AWD headed back to Chicago while she’s apparently training for the Iditarod.

Part of me is concerned for her.
    Part of me is impressed.
A small, shameful part of me is questioning my own life choices.

Anyway, if you’re out there, Blizzard Shorts Lady of Hunting Valley, I hope you made it home safely. And I hope your quads are as strong as your spirit, because wow.

Stay warm, Northeast Ohio. Or… don’t, I guess?

Be civil and respectful towards fellow Redditors. Remember to engage with other users in a respectful and courteous manner, even if you disagree with their viewpoints. Avoid personal attacks, harassment, and racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic or otherwise inflammatory language. Healthy debates are encouraged, but personal attacks or hostile behavior will not be tolerated. Everyone is welcome in Cleveland and inr/Cleveland. Let's keep the discussion constructive and welcoming for others.

Keep all content directly related to Cleveland and its surrounding areas. Posts should be relevant to the city, its events, culture, news, and local interests. Off-topic content may be removed to maintain the subreddit's focus on Cleveland-centric discussions.

Posts about politics are allowed, but they must specifically relate to the Cleveland area. There are other subs liker/politics andr/Ohio where national and state politics are discussed. Political posts in this sub should be limited to local politics, local political events, and state/national politics that has some special impact here.

Before asking questions about the community such as what to do, where to eat, or where to live, please first do a search to see if similar questions have been asked and answered in the recent past. This helps cut down on duplicative questions.

Questions about moving to Cleveland such as what to expect and where to live should generally be in the weekly stickied "Moving Mondays" thread. This keeps the feed from being cluttered with too many questions about moving.

Local businesses, creators, and community members who want to promote their work or talk about their upcoming events should generally do so in the weekly "Self-Promotion Sundays" thread. This keeps the feed from being cluttered with advertising.

Doxxing means creating negative publicity about private individuals who are not public figures or already in the news. This includes trying to discover or disclose the identity of anonymous individuals. Doxxing and requests for doxxing are strictly prohibited. Any such content will be removed, and users may be temporarily or permanently banned. Respect everyone's privacy and safety.

While sports discussions are welcome, please avoid overly technical posts related to trade rumors, detailed discussions of statistics, game threads, etc. Keep sports discussions accessible and inclusive for all members of the community. Check out these subreddits to find more technical posts:r/ClevelandGuardiansr/Brownsr/ClevelandCavs.

Avoid posting redundant content or reposts. Before submitting, check to see if your topic or link has already been shared to prevent cluttering the subreddit with duplicate posts. Let's keep the content fresh and engaging for everyone.

All NSFW (Not Safe For Work) posts must be appropriately flaired using the NSFW flair. This helps ensure that sensitive content is properly labeled and allows users to filter it if desired. Failure to flair NSFW posts may result in removal by moderators. Gratuitous sexual content, gratuitous violent content, and soliciting sexual activity are also prohibited.

Absolutely no posts or comments promoting illegal activities, including but not limited to criminalized drugs or advice on breaking the law. Any such content will be removed, and users may be temporarily or permanently banned. This subreddit is a platform for positive and lawful discussions about Cleveland.

Respect copyrights and other intellectual property rights. Do not post content that infringes upon the rights of others, including unauthorized use of images, videos, or written material.

Be mindful of Reddit's content policy. Ensure that all posts and comments adhere to Reddit's site-wide rules and guidelines to maintain a healthy and welcoming community. A general principle of Reddiquitte is don't say or do to a stranger online something that you wouldn't accept from a stranger face-to-face.

Posts linking to articles to paywalled content, or content that requires users to register and/or provide an email address are not allowed. Posts that include a "gift-link" so that all users of this sub can read the article are allowed.

Every post should be of high enough quality that some part of the community can understand and appreciate it. Low-quality posts include duplicative posts, irrelevant posts, unintelligible or confusing posts, low-effort memes, questions that could be answered by Google, and most cross-posts from other subreddits.
