    What is the Python Software Foundation?

    From thePSF Mission Statement:

    The mission of the Python Software Foundation is to promote,protect, and advance the Python programming language, and tosupport and facilitate the growth of adiverseand international community of Python programmers.

    The Python Software Foundation (PSF) is a non-profitmembership organization devoted to advancing open source technologyrelated to the Python programming language. It qualifiesunder the US Internal Revenue Code as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3)scientific and educational public charity, and conducts itsbusiness according to the rules for such organizations.

    The PSF is a corporation according to U.S. tax law, incorporated inthe state of Delaware. Our federal taxpayer ID ("04 number") is04-3594598.

    You can sign up here forpsf-members-announce, which is a moderated, very low traffic list used for announcements to the PSF members, primarily regarding elections.
