    Serena ist dieProtagonistin ausPokémon X und Y und wohnt inEscissia. Sie ist das weibliche Gegenstück zuKalem. Wählt man statt ihr Kalem als Protagonisten, so ist sie eineRivalin. Serena ist Teil der Gruppe aus Escissia, welche aus fünf Mitgliedern besteht.

    Hintergrund und Charakter

    Als Heldin lebt sie in Escissia und schließt zu Beginn des Abenteuers Freundschaft mit den vier CharakterenKalem,Sannah,Trovato undTierno, denen sie regelmäßig auf ihrer Reise begegnen wird und die ihr schon bald ans Herz wachsen werden. Jedes Mitglied der Gruppe erhält ein Pokémon und einenPokédex, um damit die gesamte Region zu bereisen, mit dem Ziel,Champ derPokémon Liga zu werden und denPokédex fürProfessor Platan zu vervollständigen.[1]

    Die Erscheinung und das Aussehen des Protagonisten im Spiel kann vom Spieler selbst bestimmt werden, weshalb sie neben Kalem die erste Protagonistin ist, die verschiedene Haar-, Haut- und Irisfarben haben kann: Somit ist sie auch der erste spielbare Charakter, welcher nicht nur blonde Haare, sondern auch eine dunkle Hautfarbe besitzen kann.

    Wählt man an ihrer StelleKalem am Anfang als Protagonist aus, tritt sie als Nicht-Spieler-Charakter und Mitglied der Gruppe, mit der er zusammen auf die große Reise geht, auf. Sie ist das Nachbarskind aus Escissia und stellt mit den meisten Kämpfen die Hauptrivalin dar. In diesem Fall trägt sie keinen Hut, sondern einen Zopf.

    Als Rivalin, oder als standardmäßiger Spielercharakter, hat sie lange, blonde Haare und helle Haut. Ihr Outfit besteht aus einem Hut, auf dem sie ihre Sonnenbrille ablegt, einem schwarzen Top und einem roten, weiten Minirock, den sie zusammen mit Schenkel-hohen Strümpfen anzieht. Zudem trägt sie schwarze Schuhe.

    Serena kennt Ash bereits aus einem Pokémon-Sommerlager, an dem sie als Kinder teilgenommen haben. Sie erkennt ihn schließlich wieder bei einer Live-Fernseh-Übertragung, die zeigt, wie Ash versucht, ein wild gewordenesKnakrack zu beruhigen. Daraufhin beschließt sie, ihn in Kalos zu suchen. Als sie ihn endlich inNouvaria City findet, ist sie zunächst enttäuscht, dass Ash sich nicht an sie erinnern kann. Letztendlich entschließt sie sich erst, Ash durchKalos zu begleiten, nachdem sich dieser an sie erinnert.

    Sie hatte lange kein wirkliches Ziel für ihre Reise und das wurde ihr auch später bewusst, als sie mitbekam, wie leidenschaftlich andere ihre verfolgten. Dann entdeckte sie diePokémon-Showcases und entschloss, Performerin zu werden. Später änderte sie nach einem ersten Rückschlag ihr Aussehen. InWas für eine wunderbare Zeit! reist sie nachHoenn, um dort neue Erfahrungen zu sammeln und an Wettbewerben teilzunehmen.
