InPikmin 4[edit]

InPikmin 4, collecting Sparklium is a primary mission given to therookie Rescue Officer, since it is needed in order for theS.S. Shepherd to be able to power on and scanareas.Treasure is brought to theS.S. Beagle and is added up at the end of theday. Every treasure has its own Sparklium value.Enemy corpses are also worth Sparklium, though they are only collectible in this way inside ofcaves and are usually not as valuable.

Completing a treasureseries rewards additional Sparklium. There isSparklium × 34,876 worth of treasure in the game, plus a total ofSparklium × 7,602 awarded for completing every series. This comes to a grand total ofSparklium × 42,478. If completing theFit for a Feast mission, at leastSparklium × 81 more in enemy corpses must be collected.

InHey! Pikmin[edit]

WhenCaptain Olimar crashes onthe planet introduced inHey! Pikmin, the S.S. Dolphin II informs him that it has lost the entirety of its fuel and that they need to recover 30,000 Sparklium in order for the ship to become fully functional. The maximum amount of Sparklium is 99,999. The most Sparklium can be found intreasures, but Sparklium is more abundant in the form ofSparklium Seeds. Additionally, crystals that yield Sparklium can be found in theSparklium Springs.

Sparklium is also used by the ship to provide Olimar with gear, which gets unlocked after certain levels of Sparklium are collected. A list of upgrades can be foundhere.

Sparklium Seed[edit]

Sparklium Seeds are seeds that resemble small acorns, and are sources of Sparklium. They come in three varieties:

  1. Yellow Sparklium Seeds. These are the smallest and most common variety, and they are worth 1 sparklium each.
  2. Red Sparklium Seeds. The red variety is larger than its goldish cousin, and each one is worth 5 sparklium each.
  3. Rainbow Sparklium Seeds. This colorful seed is by far the largest of the three. Each one slightly larger than Olimar himself. These replacetreasures that have already been collected when an area is replayed. Each one is worth 50 sparklium.

Sparklium Seeds are collected by having Captain Olimar or a Pikmin in the group touch them. They can be found out in the open, either at ground level, or floating in the air, which more often than not, requires the player tothrow aPikmin at them to retrieve them. Thrown Pikmin that touch seeds will grab them andcarry them to Olimar – carried seeds can only be collected once Olimar touches them. Seeds can also come out of defeated enemies, large golden flowers, or from holes plugged byvines. They can also be found buried, like some treasures.
