Red Chasm (赤の洞窟?, lit.: "Red Cave") is the eighth level inPikmin 2'sChallenge Mode. A very densely populated challenge, you will have to contend with a large number ofDwarf Red Bulborbs andRed Bulborbs, all with an army of onlyRed Pikmin, although a very large number ofsprays simplify this task.

Its name is a reference to the overwhelmingly red population of the challenge; every enemy, every treasure, and even the Pikmin brought in are all red.

Sublevel 1[edit]

The Key is located inside one of the fiveRed Bulborbs. With any luck, the one with The Key will be close to theResearch Pod. If not, be prepared for an extended fight through the sublevel to find the right one. Keep in mind that every Bulborb, both Dwarf and otherwise, you slay will drop a treasure, very quickly resulting in a sublevel crammed with both corpses and treasure. You'll probably need to take treasures and corpses back to prevent them from interfering with the fighting. Stay very cautious to ensure theDwarf Bulborbs don't manage to pick off Pikmin, especially in the chaos of the battles.

Assuming your goal is a pink flower, you'll want to use your numerous sprays. Threeultra-bitter sprays is enough to petrify and simplify most of the battles with the Red Bulborbs, and fourultra-spicy sprays is enough to keep your Pikmin empowered for every significant battle and enables them to move treasure and corpses extremely quickly.
