ThePortable Sunset (ユウヒノミ^?, lit.: "Fruit of Sunset") is afruit inPikmin 3 and atreasure inPikmin 4. At first glance, it appears to be aLove Nugget (which is a tomato), but it is actually aJapanese persimmon fruit. It produces 2 bottles of juice (one inUltra-Spicy mode), and is found in two places in either game's Story Mode.

Distant Tundra[edit]

The Portable Sunset in theDistant Tundra requiresBlue Pikmin to obtain. It is hanging from a branch above a small pond near aBearded Amprat and aBouncy Mushroom. By throwing 8 Pikmin onto the fruit, it will fall into the water, and from there, Blue Pikmin can retrieve it. It is advised to bring someYellow Pikmin to take care of the few Amprats along the way. It is also possible to push the fruit completely out of the water using two Blue Pikmin carrying the body of a nearbySkeeterskate if not enough are available.

Twilight River[edit]

The Portable Sunset in theTwilight River is found right beyond abamboo gate on the second half of the area. This fruit is guarded by threeOrange Bulborbs. If you do not have enoughWinged Pikmin, you will have to go head to head with the Orange Bulborbs. Alternatively, simply throw 8 Winged Pikmin over to the fruit. However, they willnot go over the gate, instead going right past the Orange Bulborbs and waking them up, although they will go back to sleep immediately.

Collecting the treasure[edit]

Primordial Thicket[edit]

There is a Portable Sunset hanging from a cobweb northwest of the center of thePrimordial Thicket. To collect this treasure, you must first construct theclay bridge nearby, which requires 75 raw material to build. Then, throw 10 Pikmin at it.

The Mud Pit[edit]

There is a Portable Sunset inside of aBogswallow in the southwestern part of sublevel 2 ofThe Mud Pit. To collect this treasure, you must first defeat the Bogswallow, then throw 10 Pikmin at it.
