Pack
The following article or section is in need of assistance from someone who playsPikmin 4. |
InPikmin 4, several items can be used whilst out exploring the many areas ofPNF-404. These items are all stored in thepack, which can be accessed at any time during gameplay. Most of the items can be purchased fromRuss at the lab, but a handful can be obtained by other means.
Purchasing[edit]
The majority of items in the pack need to be purchased fromRuss at the lab, accessible at the start of eachday in theRescue Command Post. Each purchase costs a certain amount ofraw material, depending on the item, except for the first purchase of a given item, since Russ calls that one a prototype and hands it out for free – despite the name, it works just like any other instance of the item. Every morning, Russ will have some items available for sale, but only up to a limited amount, meaning that if the player wants more, they have to find it in some other way or buy more the next day. TheSurvey Drone,Idler's Alert, andHomesick Signal are one-time purchases, and are added as devices to the pack for use whenever the player wishes.
Using[edit]
During gameplay, the player can open theaction menu and choose the right option, the pack, to open it. This opens a further menu from which the player can choose what to use. Once they select, the item gets used right away, or is placed on the leader's hands to bethrown. Alternatively, the pack menu and items themselves can be bound to
/
, allowing the player to press a given direction to immediately open the pack menu, or even to immediately use the item without having to go through any menu.
In Dandori Battles[edit]
In theDandori Battle mode accessible from thetitle screen, the pack's interface works differently, and the only item available is theIdler's Alert. Instead of a large full-screen menu, a smaller menu is imposed on top of the gameplay; this menu does not show the health bars of theleader andOatchi, does not describe the selected item, and is overall more minimalist. If two human players are playing against one another, opening this menu will not pause the game.
