Iron fences are obstacles first appearing inPikmin 4. They consist of several upright metal bars arranged to form a wall, with space in-between each bar large enough for a leader andPikmin to pass through, but too narrow forOatchi orMoss. Pikmincarrying objects are also unable to pass through, with the exception of small objects such asgold nuggets andraw material.
Two varieties of fence are seen inPikmin 4; a rusty fence that acts as a static obstacle, and a shiny fence with white light circling the base of each bar which can be lowered by pressing aswitch, allowing Oatchi and carrying Pikmin to pass through. These shiny fences have similar behavior and apperance towhite gates.
