TheCosmic Archive (コズミック・アーカイブ?, lit.: "Cosmic Archive") is atreasure found inPikmin 2. It is actually a Famicom Disk System disk of the gameThe Mysterious Murasame Castle. This treasure is found on sublevel 3 of theHole of Beasts, and it is best to take out thefire geysers prior to retrieving it; alternately,Red Pikmin can be issued tocarry it.

Which means "Family Computer Disk System", "The Mysterious Murasame Castle". The writing on the top is present for all Family Computer Disk System games.

- Translation:“The cave we explored today had holes here and there with flames spewing out of them, and the whole cave was hot.And when I think of flames, I think of Red Pikmin! ...Oh no! I completely forgot to teach Louie about that. He is so quiet that it's really hard to talk to him... This object we retrieved today seems to be a recording device, but it was impossible to analyze its contents.It is not possible to play with the contents of the disk.”

- Interestingly, this treasure is not the only connection betweenPikmin andMysterious Murasame Castle. InWarioWare: D.I.Y.,a microgame based onMysterious Murasame Castle is present in the Japaneseversion, but has been replaced with aPikmin microgame in the localized versions.
- To a lesser degree, theSuper Smash Bros. series combine elements from several universes, includingPikmin andMysterious Murasame Castle. InSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, it is possible to, for instance, haveCaptain Olimar summon Takamaru as anAssist Trophy.
