About Us

Patheos has been the trusted home for understanding religion and belief since 2009, serving millions of readers across multiple faiths. We believe faith can be a force for good in the world—but we also know it’s hard to find accurate, balanced information about religion online. Patheos exists to provide credible resources, stories, and conversations that lead to understanding, empathy, and acceptance of all faiths.

At the heart of Patheos is a
peer‑reviewed Religion Library—one of the web’s most comprehensive reference resources on global religions and worldviews—along with tools like theSide‑by‑Side Religion Comparison Lens. These features make it easy to explore origins, beliefs, rituals, ethics, and community life across dozens of traditions.

Beyond reference, Patheos hosts columns from hundreds of religious thought leaders across multiple faith channels, offering timely commentary on culture, ethics, and everyday life.

Our editorial approach prioritizes accuracy, transparency, and civil dialogue—because encountering different perspectives can foster tolerance, compassion, and growth. You don’t have to be a believer to join the conversation; you just need curiosity and respect.
