Biography: Steve Carlton is an American baseball pitcher, best known for playing with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was the first pitcher to win fourCy Young awards in his career, which are granted yearly to the best pitcher.
Carlton has held a number of records, including the lifetime strike out record; although he was overtaken in this by his contemporary,Nolan Ryan.
