In 1964, he changed his name from Ronald to Christopher at the suggestion of a nightclub singer. Walken's breakthrough role came in "The Deer Hunter" (1978), for which he won an Oscar.

Throughout his career, Walken has played a wide range of characters in films such as "Annie Hall" (1977), "The Dead Zone" (1983), and "Pulp Fiction" (1994).
