Biography: Bonds was an a baseball right fielder, mainly with the San Francisco Giants, from 1968 to 1981. His record of five seasons with 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases was matched only by his son,Barry Bonds.

While Bonds played primarily for the Giants, he was also renowned for being traded so much that he played for eight different teams in eight years. During his career, Bonds was a three-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner, and was All-Star MVP in 1973.

After retiring, Bonds returned to coach the Giants in 1993 during the time when his son Barry was playing for the team. All up his time with the Giants totaled 23 seasons.
