May, 1933Kazuma Tateishi founded Tateishi Electric Works in Higashinoda, Miyakojima Ward, Osaka City.
May, 1933Started manufacturing timer for X-ray photography (established May 10, 1933).
June, 1945The factory was relocated to Hanazonotsuchido-cho, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City.
May, 1948The company changed its trade name to Tateishi Electric Corporation (established May 19, 1948).
January, 1959Established trademark OMRON. Established Our Mission.
February, 1960Developed the world's first contactless proximity switch.
October, 1960Central R&D Laboratory completed in Nagaoka-cho, Kyoto (currently Nagaokakyo-shi).
