Rivabella was an Italian civil engineer, who was based in Athina, in the Plaka District, when he competed in the 1896 shooting events. He worked at Samos Island, where he helped build roads and bridges. On Samos, the locals used to describe a “well-made thing” by calling it a “ripabella.”
