So, Wham has finally set a new chart record of taking 36 years to reach number one. Three years ago, and also (but not in the same year) Mariah set unwanted chart records by dropping from number two out of the 100 on the first chart of the New Year then when all the festive records dropped out.

This week Ladbaby has a big drop from one to 78, not a record by any means but a significant fall to say the least.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the current record holder of biggest drop from number one in a single week belongs to the Lightning Seeds with Three Lions when that tumbled down to 97 following England's defeat in the World Cup semi final during summer 2018.
No single in chart history has ever fallen from one out of the hundred in a single week. This Friday that will change when Wham sets that most unwanted chart record.
Also other chart records will be set, with the most number of dropouts out of the 100 in a single week as we kiss goodbye to all the festive records, a new record of re-entries will occur, the most number of singles in the top 10 to fall out of the 100 in a single week, with nine expected to go, you get the picture, I could go on but won't, so we all wait with baited breath for the new chart.

Where is "Boris Johnson is a F*cking C*nt"? It was number 5 in the Christmas chart, but not here? Plus, where you do list it, why is the record company name disguised? If you think it's offensive, many other offensive songs and offensive titles have appeared over the years. You have a duty to accurately report sales etc and not to allow personal intervention to distort the factual reporting and basic function of your charts. The song is no more stupid than someone singing about a sausage roll. There has been a conspiracy to hamper the progress of this track, by yourselves and the BBC who refused to play even the special clean version on The Chart Show. Truth and accuracy have been compromised.

Cool stat. Got to be a record for most records keeping a #2 off the top. There was an 8-week run but that was all behind Bryan Adams!

I think the record is seven weeks for a #2 which has happened three times. There was I Swear by All-4-One in 1993 which spent seven consecutive weeks at #2 behind Love Is All Around by Wet Wet Wet. Then Moves Like Jagger spent seven consecutive weeks at #2 in 2011. Then most recently in 2018, These Days by Rudimental spent seven consecutive weeks at #2 behind God's Plan by Drake but it reached #1 after the seven weeks.

Right Said Freds 'I'm Too ' was kept from the #1 for 6 wks by Bryan Adams, then 3 years later 'I Swear' by All 4 One spent 7 weeks at #2 thanks to Wet Wet Wet. But no other #2 song has been kept off the top by so many different #1s as ' Moves Like Jagger' which is a cruel irony as some of those one-week #1s were really inferior, forgettable songs. Judge for yourselves....

        Example - Stay Awake
Pixie Lott - All About Tonight
One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful
        Dappy - No Regrets
        Sak Noel - Loca People
Rihanna & Calvin Harris - We Found Love (2 wks)

Six different songs kept it from the UK #1, not 7. ;o)

I got some of it wrong. As you say, All For One at 7 weeks is the longest consecutive run. Frank Chackesfield (Limelight) had 8 weeks at #2 in 4 different runs - all behind Frankie Laine I Believe (which itself had different runs, both hits dropped from their peak at the same time!). As for the #1s keeping Jagger off, of the 5 I remember they are all pretty decent. Don't remember the Dappy one!
