I can say that is due to 3 reasons, the article was posted so late on Monday that it just dried up pretty quickly the first day as it was getting late. The second reason nothing really exciting happened. And 3rd and most importantly is no Sunshine Gal this week haha. She always helps a lot with the comments later on during the week.

Yeah, while 6ix9ine is using every trick in the book to get #1 on the Billboard charts & I still hate his personality, at least he actually used solid production again & the song features a surprisingly melodic verse from Nicki, but I get this is an unpopular opinion, haha.
Jason Derulo’s voice in ‘Savage Love’ kind of holds this version back for me, but the original is really relaxing & catchy. The “siren beat” itself is awesome though!
‘Free 22’ is far from D-Block Europe’s worst due to tolerable production, but I’m still not won over by the vocals nor delivery from the group.

CHART REVIEW - 19-25 JUNE
It’s your boi, coolocelot101 here again. I return with another review - and as last weeks chart was so stale, it’s awesome we have more new songs coming into the chart this week. I’ll put Go Crazy into this review as well.
Viewing the highlights and lowlights, I wanted DaBaby to have UK success months back and now he has it as Rockstar has now collected a fifth week at #1, so all I can say is, thanks guys! I’m upset that the insultingly annoying Breaking Me is still climbing though. On the better dance music side, I like Secrets and Don’t Need Love entering the Top 10. Also, who really is streaming Perfect - it’s back in at #40! :O
Without further ado, I shall get into this:

6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj’s “TROLLZ” is the highest new entry of the week, in at #12 - I adored “Fefe” but this is the BTEC version unfortunately. The boring beat had no impact on me unfortunately. 6ix9ine’s hook repeats “yeah” 20 times, making the song repetitive, and he sounds so boring here. As soon as I was about to sleep on this, he starts yelling out of nowhere. Even then, he sounds better than Nicki, who comes in sounding REALLY annoying and delivering one of her most recyclable flows to date. For as much as I hated Gooba a month ago, it actually grew on me and now slaps, this though isn’t great. Light 3/10!

“Savage Love” by Jawsh 685 & Jason Derulo is another debut at #22, but... no, I’m not keen on this either! I don’t deny that Jason’s vocals are good on here, but I don’t think his voice fits the really disappointing reggae beat, which has a very grating and out of tune sax. It also embarrasses me that I can’t understand Jason in the song and I’ve wasted my time looking up the lyrics! Then it only gets worse when he sounds completely out of breath during his falsetto at the end of the hook. I know a people like this, but nah, I hate this with a passion. Solid 2/10, this was awful!

D-Block Europe’s “Free 22” is up next at #31. I never really cared for DBE outside of Kitchen Kings, but this is actually good! Young Adz goes into one of his more chilled flows, which may not sound the most interesting at first, but it’s really stuck with me! I will say though, he sounds annoying in some parts of his verse. Then we get into the beat, which has a trap percussion over a gently and melodically played acoustic guitar and flute, which reminds me of Gunna (who is extremely underrated and needs more success as a lead). Then there’s lyrics which are about making love to a girl, but there’s bragging too. Is this gonna age well or not? Either way, I hope DBE make more songs like these. Solid 7/10 for this.

I missed this last week due to it being completely stale, but now you can hear my opinion on Chris Brown & Young Thug’s new song. I was hoping we’d end this on a positive note, and it looks like we have! That melodic trap beat we hear is always a good sign for me and Chris Brown was always an amazing singer. Then we get to Young Thug’s part, and I’ve always felt divided on his voice, but he sounds okay here and he’s so good at riding his voice over the amazing beat. It doesn’t stand out from either artist’s discography, but I really enjoyed this! I’m thinking a light 8/10.

By the way, I was unpleasantly surprised to hear the news of Dame Vera Lynn’s death yesterday. She lived a good life, living to be 103, her war-themed songs resonated with so many people, and she was a national treasure. Rest in peace, Vera.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS WEEK’S CHART:
- Ed Sheeran back in the top 40? I actually missed the first few singles - and I can't actually remember what the song sounds like!
- Glad Joel Corry is still in the chart! Looking forward to his new single.
- I see Chris Brown is climbing up the chart. I don’t see the song going anywhere, but then again, I didn’t see ‘ROCKSTAR’ going anywhere, how wrong was I! :P
- Sad to see Surf Mesa’s ‘ily’ drop even 2 places… I would really love it to go to the top - even top 20 but alas…
- Another upset this week is Powfu going on ACR. Such a shame to see songs go (let’s not forget ‘Boss’, ‘Believe It’ and ‘WHATS POPPIN’) but it’s even sadder its 6 places lower than what it was on Sunday :(
- Yet Another shame is to not see ‘Pour The Milk’ nor ‘Midnight (The Hanging Tree)’ in the top 40. I would say they’ll probably go on ACR next week – but I’m scared to say that since I said that about ‘death bed’ and ‘Believe It’ and they both dropped. EDM is my favourite genre so to not see it go to No 1 like they used to is really upsetting. For some reason, I seem to fall in love with every EDM song. :D
- Glad ‘Roses’ is still in the chart – it’s one of my favourite songs this year and I’ve never got tired of it. Would love it to still be in the top 10 ( ACR)

- ‘Don’t Rush’ was never my favourite song – but I like the DaBaby remix and I’m glad some British rap is getting noticed in US, as I’ve never seen Aitch, AJ Tracey, Stormzy, M Huncho or whoever in Billboard – but I have seen ‘Don’t Rush’ climbing the top 100.
- Surprised StaySolidRocky climbs because of its small drop earlier this week. I’m glad though – the song grew on me rapidly.
- Sam Fischer climbs again… with a remix. I’m honestly tired of them… it seems like every song seems to be remixed nowadays. It used to be a song would be remixed by a DJ (like ‘Roses’) but now it’s just a person of a similar genre adding a genre. I much prefer the original ‘This City’… but now Anne-Marie’s hopped on the track I doubt I’ll actually hear the original on the radio. I don’t even get the point of all these remixes, especially in quarantine. If Anne-Marie was really that desperate to jump on the track, surely she would’ve done so the weeks before it even hit the top 40? I don’t get what she brings to the track, apart from a few extra places up the chart, which means nothing, as if it weren’t for ACR, it wouldn’t probably even be in the top 20!
- Sad to see ‘Flowers’ drop. Now there’s a remix better than the original! It brings something new - a new verse of a different genre and it’s now EDM. I guess it’ll be ACR soon, which is a shame. It deserved to go top 3.
- Glad 6ix9ine isn’t top 10 (no offence) – I was really worried it would go top 5, because CBBC show the top 5 to kids on Saturdays… I wasn’t sure what they were gonna do with THAT one. Maybe get rid of no 5? Pretend no 6 is at 5? Oh well, no need to worry now. Speaking of which, why don’t they show the 5 seconds clip of ‘ROCKSTAR’?
- ‘Watermelon Sugar’ climbs… I’m not surprised. Just never liked the song… it got tiring quickly, probably because I heard it A LOT earlier this year on Capital FM. Next month it’ll probably be battling DaBaby for No 1, no doubt.
- Yesss! 220 KID in the top 10! And Regard! Joining Topic as EDM top 10 songs… doing it for ‘Flowers’. Can they go further? Definitely! With Drake and Megan Thee Stallion set to go on ACR any time soon and ‘I Don’t Know’ probably won’t stay top 10 for that long, they can easily go further! Regard I expect to go top 5… maybe even top 3, especially after the success of ‘Ride It’, the feature of RAYE, TikTok, airplay, streaming, downloads and sales. 220 KID I don’t, but I expect it to go further into the top 10.
- Good to see ‘Dinner Guest’ in the top 5… it may not be the best song in terms of position in the top 10, but it, like ‘Say So’ was, seems to climb 1 or 2 places and drop 1 or 2 places every week. It gets tiring, and then suddenly something happens (Nicki Minaj jumps on the track etc) and it jumps up a massive amount of places then drops a few, or gradually climbs a place up every week.
- Really expected Topic to climb, but I’m happy it’s at No 4. S1mba deserves to be No 1, and I really hope it climbs to No 1 (and Topic to No 2) next week. DaBaby’s been at the top for some time now, and I’m not the biggest fan of ‘Rain On Me’. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad track, just not my cup of tea.
- Finally, I’m getting tired of this Lady Gaga & Ariana vs DaBaby & Roddy Ricch. Every week it’s the same… and no doubt it’ll be the same next week. Even if the WeekNd wasn’t on ACR he’d be under these two massive singles… I like movement in the chart. I mean, it was the same with ‘Blinding Lights’… so many singles missed out on No 1… songs from Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch etc., and now so many songs will miss out on No 1… or No 2! S1mba, Topic and AJ Tracey will all be on ACR before the top 2 moves!

That being said, ‘Secrets’ & ‘Don’t Need Love’ joining ‘Breaking Me’ in the Top 10 to give us three EDM hits in the region is a bit of consolidation at least! Been waiting for those latter two to make it for a while now, haha. :)

I wanted to let you know i may not be on the Hot 100 as much as I want to do to my new work schedule because of the coronavirus. I use to finish around like 2 on Monday and start at 6. But we will be working 10hr shifts starting 2 Mondays from now. Next week will just be an 8hr shift though. But I am suppose to work from 8 to 6 Monday through Thursday. I actually will have 3 days off now instead because we are working more hours a day.
So at least that means I'll have time to comment on the U.K singles chart more.

Work has to be done, we are considered essential staff so they want us for longer shifts throughout the day. If I have some free time though on Mondays I will try to sneak in a few comments on my phone still lol.

I knew secrets would do it and I think it’s gonna spend a month or so in the top 10 tbh! It’s getting bigger and bigger, absolutely buzzing about don’t need love getting there! One of my favourite songs of the year wasn’t sure if it would do it but so happy it has!!
