What types of subscriptions are available?

• Print + Digital: 20 print + digital issues per year, full archive access, and the NYR App

Does my print subscription include access to theReview’s online content?
Yes, your print subscription includes access to online content. If you are unable to sign in to our website, you may need toreset your password or create an accountthrough this customer service page.

What are the regular subscription rates toThe New York Review of Books?

How can I change the address for my subscription?
Please go to ourCustomer Service Center and sign-in to change your postal and/or email address. If the Post Office alerts us that your magazine is undeliverable, we have no further obligation unless we receive a corrected address within one year. If your digital subscription becomes unavailable, we have no further obligation unless we receive a corrected e-mail within one year.

When will I get my first issue?
Please allow 6–8 weeks to receive your first issue. Digital issues and full archive access are available immediately when you subscribe online.The New York Review of Books publishes twenty issues a year.

How can I order a back issue ofThe New York Review of Books?
Please use ourback issue page to order issues published since January 2018. Issues prior to January 2018 are not available. To access older articles you may purchase a Digital subscription.

Can I order a gift subscription on this site?

How can I renew my subscription on this site?
Please go to oursubscriptions renewal page and complete the form. You will need your subscriber ID number.

How does the automatic renewal program work?
Before the start of each renewal term, subscribers will be sent a reminder notice that their subscription will be renewed and their credit card will be charged. Subscribers may opt-out at any time. For more information and ratesclick here.

I typed in my subscriber number and the site wouldn't accept it. Why not?
If you are having problems entering your subscriber number please call our customer service department toll-free in the US (800) 354-0050, or (903) 636-1101 from outside the US.

Do you offer institutional site licenses toThe New York Review of Books for universities and libraries for use by the students, faculty, library patrons, employees, etc.?

Can I subscribe on an e-reader, or through an app?
TheReview is available as an e-reader subscription on the Barnes & Noble Nook, and in the Zinio and Google Play stores. E-reader editions do not link to any subscriptions so must be purchased separately. The NYR App is available for download in the Apple and Google Play stores. Content on the app is available to all subscribers at no additional cost with a linked subscription. Non-subscribers may download the app and purchase a subscription via the app store, but these subscriptions do not provide access to theReview’s full archive on this website. The app only includes more recent content from theReview. For more informationgo here.

I received notice that my Kindle subscription is being discontinued. How can I subscribe directly?
Unfortunately, Amazon has discontinued all Kindle magazines. You may subscribe toThe New York Review directly through our site and pay the same monthly rate. With your Digital subscription you will receive immediate access to the current issue and the complete archive, plus you may download the NYR App for free and read on the go on your tablet or smart phone.Click here to subscribe.

If I sign up for a subscription to the Digital Edition, can I share my account and password with my friends and colleagues?
No. That would violate the terms of service that you agree to when subscribing, and thus be grounds for termination of your account. But it's really not such a good idea anyway. Anyone who signs on to the site as you could change your email address and password, preventing you from using your account.

Can I post articles from the archives on my own site, or reprint them elsewhere?
All material on this site is copyrighted by NYREV, Inc. Further reproduction without written permission from the publisher is strictly prohibited. For classroom use or other permission requests, please contact permission@nybooks.com.

Can I order a subscription to the Digital edition as a gift for someone else?
Sorry, no. The Digital edition is not available as a gift at this time.

I live in India. Can I order a digital-only subscription?
Digital services are taxable in India, and currently we do not have the ability to collect and remit this tax. If you had a digital subscription, it will be renewed as a print subscription, which includes digital access, at the same lower digital rate.

I'm interested in placing an ad in your magazine. Who should I contact?

Do you sell emails from your newsletter list?

As we receive hundreds of books for review consideration, we do not keep a log of the books that arrive. When a book is reviewed, we send copies of the review to the book's publisher.

Can you send me the email address for one of your contributors?
We are not able to provide contact information for contributors to theReview; however, you can send a letter in care of the editors (or email editor@nybooks.com, who will forward it). If you are interested in responding to a review, article or letter by a specific author or contributor, please contact the editors.

Can I reprint material from the Review?
For permission to reprint, copy, or distribute material published in theReview, please visit ourRights & Permissions page and complete the form.

Magazine subscription prices are inclusive of shipping. Book and product sales are calculated at checkout. We do ship outside the US.

Is my personal information secure when I shop on this site?
Your order is safe with us. We use the industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for all credit card transactions on this site. When you place an order, our server encrypts all of your personal information, including your credit card number, name, and address.
