Listen to new Garbage track ‘Even Though Our Love Is Doomed’

It's the second taste of their upcoming sixth album ‘Strange Little Birds’

Garbage have shared a second track from their sixth album ‘Strange Little Birds’, due out on June 10 on their own label, Stunvolume.

‘Even Though Our Love Is Doomed’ follows ‘Empty’, the album’s lead single, which the band shared in April.

Frontwoman Shirley Manson has described the new album as a whole as “less fussed over” than anything Garbage have ever made, saying, “To me, this record has the most to do with the first record than any of the previous records. It’s getting back to that beginner’s headspace. In part, that’s a result of not having anyone to answer to.”
Drummer Butch Vig has said that on the new album, the band “fell in love with immediacy.”

Manson recently made headlines after she suffered a fallduring a festival performance in Los Angeles.

The band performed at KROQ Weenie Roast earlier this month (May 14) when Manson stumbled off the stage during a rendition of 1998 song ‘Special’. Manson appeared unhurt and managed to continue performing the song.

The band later took to Facebook to write of the incident: “So we got the first show of ‘Strange Little Birds’ [album cycle] under our belt yesterday. Could have been worse. Could have been better. There are always monsters to chase in dreams”.

Garbage will play two UK dates following the release of their album on June 10: they will play Troxy in London on June 13 and Rock City, Nottingham on June 14.
