The Reference and Guidance Department of the Library consists of librarians thoroughly familiar with the collections and services of the National Library and the information landscape.

The department's librarians will be happy to assist you with any questions regarding the Library's collections and navigating the catalog, website, and various databases.

Personal Research Consultation

What is the personal research consultation service?
A one-on-one meeting of approximately one hour, during which you’ll receive extended, personalized assistance in locating information and sources for your research.

The meeting can be held in the library or online and is available by appointment only.

Who is this service for?
The service is intended for both academic and independent research.

It is suitable for research in the fields of the humanities and social sciences, especially (but not exclusively) for topics related to the Library’s core subjects: Israel, Judaism, Islam, and the Middle East.

How to schedule a meeting?
Fill out the Request the 1-on-1 Meeting With a Librarian form – the more details you provide, the better we can prepare and assist you.

Once the form is submitted and reviewed, one of our department specialists will contact you by phone to schedule a meeting and gather any additional information if needed.
