THE NFL ACADEMY
This major initiative by the NFL is an elite football development program for student-athletes. It looks to combine full-time education with transformative life skills and character development, alongside intensive training in American Football.
The NFL Academy has two programs, the first is located Loughborough’s world-renowned centre of sporting excellence in partnership with Loughborough College and Loughborough University.
The second is located on the Gold Coast, Australia and the program is delivered in partnership with A.B. Paterson College.
NFL Academy alumni have gone on to join some of the top US and UK academic and athletic universities.
The program promotes elite football performance and player pathway opportunities, with students working to secure football scholarships to U.S. colleges throughout the academic year.
Since its inception more than 40 students have secured college football scholarships in the US. Twenty-seven NFL Academy alumni will play NCAA Division 1 football in the 2025-26 season.
Athletes have access to elite sports training facilities, kit and equipment, as well as an opportunity to learn from players and coaches from the NFL.
The character development programme aims to provide students with the tools to be successful in whatever pathway they take following the NFL Academy.
