But films different we've (the "we've" are Christi and the Spindrifts, his backup band) auditioned for a pilot film and have a big name putting in a good word for us on the West No one knows better than Christi that "good words" mean nothing, unless they're backed up by hard work.
Hard work is easy for the boy from South Bend, unspoiled, by success "I love to sing, it's never work what I like best is to get a program ready for a family audience. A balladeer with a fouroctave range and a repertoire of more than 150 charted old and new songs none of them tinged with Clearisil Christi, on tape or live, has a warm and intimate style that brings out the best in the "songs to be sung. When he talks about his career this 23-year-old bachelor who "isn't quite ready for marriage, yet," it is to recall cal who gave him his start ing (Brother Daniel Kane, former choral director at St. Joseph's High School where Tom Prezestwor (Christi) was big in sports), and "the times you wish the floor would part and swallow you times when the lights fail, the sound quits and you forget the words to a song you've sung dozens of times. The name of Brother Kane, who now teaches at Gilmore Academy in Cleveland, is not the only name that comes up in Christi conversation about his career.
He talks about his mother "she sings like an angel." He talks about his brother, Mark "he's the top male vocalist this year in the U.S. Air Force." As the top male singer in blue, Mark, who is 19 and seems to be following in the footsteps of his older brother, is on a sixmonth tour of Air Force bases in this country and in Europe until mid-November. When Christi returns to his own career, it is with the critical observation that he has to "grow, mature, cultivate my voice so I'll be ready when the call to summit comes." To others there seems to be no question that Tom Christi will be ready for whatever comes along.
