Amateur raido operators within one| thousand miles of Pittsburgh should be able to receive the pleas of Herbert Hoover for the European Relief, as riven before meeting at the Duquesne Club, Pittsburgh, on Saturday, night| January 15, at 8:00 P. M. Mr. Hoover's speech will be picked up by means of a transmitter, placed conveniently in the banquet room, and the words will be trans-| mitted to the East Pittsburgh Works of the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company, :1 distance of ten miles, by means of a telephenol wire, where it will to sent out via the experimental wireless telephone! station of the company. The event shows one of the wide| uses to which radio telephony may be put, and allows the appeal for relief for the starved ones in Europe to be broadeasted over almost half of the United States. The wave length used by the radio! station is 3:30 meters, and its call is KDKA. Indiana radio operators are plan-; ning to "listen in" tomorrow evening.
