Ho, Hum-It's Rattlers, 76-0! By JERRY WOODALL Democrat Sports Writer Florida's A&M football Rattlers, employing an offense that eats up yardage on the ground and in the air with equal ease, rocked Bethune Cookman, 76-0, here Saturday. Eleven different players scored touchdowns as A&M knocked off its fourth straight opponent, A&M stands 3-0 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The loss brought the Daytona Beach school's record to 3-2 for the year, 3-1 in SIAC play. A&M rolled up 28 first downs, 314 yards on the ground, 123 through the air. It threw B Bethune for minus 15 yards rushing. The Rattlers held a 62-0 advanwith nearly eight minutes tage left in the third period. The biggest threat the visitors mounted was in the fourth period when A&M's Napoleon Johnson got back to punt and the snap sailed over his head. Bethune's Corry, Carmichael recovered on A&M 25. A penalty give then visitors first-andfive on 20. But two plays later, hard-rushing A&M tacklers had pushed Bethune back to midfield and it found itself with a third-and-33 situation on the A&M 48. Still, a fourth-down pass from Homer James to Jerry Simmons fell a yard short of the first down at the 16. In the fourth period, Eugene Johnson broke loose on a 45-yard touchdown run, and Tullis passed 15 5 yards to Sam Miller for the final TD. Hayes ran for the two points with 3:35 left in the game. In the second period, the Ratbegan a scoring flurry that produced 18 points within 2:55. Hewritt Dickson rammed for 4 a touchdown with 8:19 left in the first half. Tullis ran back a Bethune punt 51 yards to the four seconds later and Ralph Burns carried over from there. With 5:26 left, John Hamilton bucked over from the one. Still in the second quarter, Bobby Frazier, trying to pass for Bethune, stepped out of his own end zone for an A&M safety.
