j- Jerry GREENE'S FROM THE CHEAP SEATS MIKE BIANCHI COLUMNIST JERRY GREENE COLUMNIST LYNN HOPPES EXECUTIVE SPORTS EDITOR We interrupt your programming . . . A new day is dawning in Central Florida radio. Keep'n Score. Yes, after years of discussions (don't ask), the Orlando Sentinel is presenting its very own sports- talk radio show starting Monday, April 28, every weekday morning from 9 to 1 0 on 740 the Team (WQTM-AM) . Now the first thing you might notice is that an award-winning newspaper staff would know how to spell "Keeping. "But "Keep'n" is hip, cool and boss (or whatever this week's correct terminology might be). And when you're talking hip and cool, check out the daily talent (they call us "talent" to make us feel good) Executive Sports Editor Lynn Hoppes, columnist Mike Bian-chi and columnist Jerry Greene (speaking in third-person here) . If you need comparisons, think of Fox's NFL pregame show: Hoppes is J. B., the straight-man who never gets any funny lines. Greene is Jimmy Johnson, the cagey veteran with the beautiful hair. ,M Cheep Nsconiy -7777 Sentinel Sports on 740 The Team And Bianchi is Terry Brad-shaw, the follicly-challenged hillbilly. First thing we've got to have in today's world is a mission statement, so I asked Hoppes to write one. Here it is: "The mission is pretty simple to inform and entertain." See, I told you he wouldn't be the funny one. He is right, however. Here are a few of the weekly features: FaceOff A daily battle when Bianchi will play a baffled John Travolta to my clever, cunning Nicolas Cage. Q5 A daily quick-paced interview with one of sports ' leading personalities, or another writereditor from the newspaper's staff. Name Game A word-association session when Hoppes throws out a name and Bianchi and I get to say: "Who?" Pinhead of the Week Yes, the beloved Pinhead will return each Monday morning when we salute someone for stupidity and lameness beyond the call of duty. If I Were King Every Wednesday Bianchi gets to act like royalty. You know, making bizarre proclamations, chopping off heads, feeding cake to the commoners, soaking in Ro-gaine. Nostradumbass Uh, that's me on Fridays, telling you how things are going to be. All this and more. There will be opportunities for you to respond, either by phone or e-mail. At some point we may begin a "Take Your Best Shot" segment when you get to shoot and we get to bleed. So I promise you three things: 1 . It' s going to be fun (for us and for you). 2. It's going to be sexy ('cause we are three wild and crazy guys). 3. It's going to help pay for my new car (and that ' s the bottom line) . Remember, Monday, April 28, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekdays, 740 the Team (WQTM-AM) . Keep'n Score. Try it you are going to like it.
