WCIX to begin beaming here

WCIX to begin beaming here By PETE PEPINSKY News Business Editor Starting Friday, a ninth television station is beaming signals into Boca Raton, following the installation of a special amplification device atop the 26-story Boca Raton Hotel Tower. WCIX-TV, an independent station headquartered in Miami and broadcasting from facilities i in Homestead, has electronically translated its signal from channel six on the regular VHF dial to UHF channel 64 for Boca Raton viewers. WOLY has been available to cable television subscribers (as VHF channel six) in Boca Raton since the cable company, Tepeompter Florida CATV . Corp., began operation here. For television viewers who are not cable subscribers, WCIX can be viewed by turning to channel 64 on the UHF dial. *Since UHF channel 64 has never previously been used in the Boca Raton area, many television sets - especially older models - may require fine tuning adjustments for adequate reception. WCIX currently broadcasts from noon to midnight, but starting April 30, the station will be on the air from 8:30 a:m. until midnight.
