0 a Arizona | Edwards Sparks Utah State in 42-13 Victory Over Colorado State Rams By DUSTON HARVEY United Press International LOGAN (UPI) - Reserve quarterback Ron Edwards came up off the bench late in the first half to get sluggish Utah State moving and the Aggies rolled to a 42-13 victory over Colorado State University today. A homecoming crowd of 12,- 565 watched the game. Edwards, a smooth throwing, shifty running sophomore from Antioch, Calif., sparked the Ag-' gies after stubborn Colorado State held them to just 25 yards in the first 25 minutes. The sophomore quarterback also threw touchdown passes of 8 and 81 yards in the second half. Halfback Don Holder got USU's first score on a two yard run around right end and Edwards put USU ahead for good with two points on a keeper around the end. Utah State completely dominated the second half as the Aggies' alert pass defense turned two pass interceptions into touchdowns and stopped Colorado State from making any sort of a sustained drive. Colorado State scored first in the opening quarter as quarterback Eddie Belt guided the Rams 61 yards in 11 plays. Belt passed to halfback. Jess Willis for three yards and the touchdown. Defensive halfback Bill Callahan came up with two big interceptions for Utah State. He snagged a Belt pass on the Aggie eight to start USU on their first scoring march and got Utah State's second touchdown early in the third quarter when he ran 18 yards with another interception.
