Tony Petkovsek's Slovenian show now is ' on WXEN weekdays from 2:30-4 p.m. and Mike Comer's Irish program is aired Tuesdays from 10 p.m.-midnight. Joe Giuliano's Italian show will be moving to WXEN Monday nights from 9-midnight next week. Paul Wilcox's polka hour will be beamed from midnight-1 a.m. Tuesday through Friday mornings, beginning March 15. Sgt. Ralph Lemieux will be retiring from the police department Friday - but he will continue to give weekday morning and evening rush-hour traffic reports, via car, on WJW Radio. Lemieux, 52, has been a member of the department since Jan. 1, 1946, and has headed the accident followup unit since March, 1965. Speaking of traffic reports, a different WERE Radio helicopter is THE Radio expected to be flying shortly to supply the vantage point from which Rusty Kramer gives the good and bad news on the rush hours. The helicopter formerly used crashed during a training flight Saturday at Burke Lakefront Airport. Neither the pilot nor instructor was injured. Damage to the copter was estimated at $60,000. Locally, $17,962 was raised in donations and pledges during the national leukemia radiothon that was broadcast on WJW Radio over the weekend - and the total still was mounting yesterday. Nationally, the amount raised was $529,846. Tappy Phillips has joined the Channel 5 news staff as a reporter. She came here from WSPA-TV. in Spartanburg, S.C. Pete Franklin haters - take heart. The host of WWWE Radio's "Sports Line" will be on the beaches of Hawali from March 12-26. The occasion? He's finally being nice to his lovely wife, Pat, and springing for a special 25th weddining anniversary present. It obviously will be interesting to see how "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" on Channel 8 affects the local ratings from 7:30-8 p.m. The most interesting aspects are how the Ohio Lottery show Thursday nights on Channel 5 and "Hogan's Heroes," a long-time weeknight staple on Channel 43, fare.
