パコ ラバンヌが1966年パリでスタートさせたブランド。1934年 スペイン バスク地方生まれ。内乱のためフランスに亡命。ゲルニカの空爆(スペイン内戦)を経験。17歳で渡仏、美術学校で建築学を学ぶ。バレンシアガ、ニナリッチ、ピエールカルダン、クレージュ、ジバンシィなどのトップメゾンのためにアクセサリーを制作していた。66年、初めてのクチュールコレクション「12 Unwearable Dresses in Contemporary Materials」を発表。新しい特殊な素材を使用し、従来の服作りからかけ離れた前衛的、実験的手法で大きな注目を集めた。その後も素材への飽くなき探求は続き、紙、アルミニウムジャージ、メタルなどで未来的コレクションを発表。60年代を代表する伝説的ブランド。69年、プレタポルテに進出。90年「デ・ドール賞」を受賞。99年ファッション界から引退。2006年メゾンを閉鎖。 2011年コムデギャルソンとのコラボレーションバッグ「le69」が発表され、再び注目が集まる。2013年から、ジュリエン ドッセーナがメインデザイナーに、2011年にはインド出身のマニッシュ・アローラが就任するも、翌年スピード辞任。
