Young suffered a lower-body injury during the Aces’ final game before the All-Star break. While head coach Becky Hammon said the guard was dealing with a groin injury, the official designation is a left hip injury. Young only played the first minute of Saturday’s All-Star Game before checking out, and the Aces gave her the day off on Monday. If Young cannot play against Atlanta, the Aces will need more production from Dana Evans and Aaliyah Nye.
  • Onyenwere started Chicago’s most recent game, a July 16 loss to the Dream, but only played 12 minutes. She’s now dealing with a knee injury that will keep her sidelined for at least Tuesday’s matchup with the league-leading Lynx. This leaves Chicago down two rotation wings, with Ariel Atkins also out. Rebecca Allen is the likely replacement in the starting lineup, but she offers limited streaming value.
  • Atkins injured her left leg during the first half of Chicago’s July 14 loss to the Lynx. Tuesday’s game will be the second she’s missed due to the injury, likely meaning that Moriah Jefferson will remain in the starting lineup. Jefferson has not been the best fantasy option this season after missing time due to injury, and that’s unlikely to change against the team with the WNBA’s best record.
  • Touré, who was in training camp with the Valkyries before being waived, is back in the WNBA on a seven-day contract. The 30-year-old has played professionally in France since 2012 and most recently represented her country at FIBA Women’s EuroBasket. Touré will provide additional perimeter depth as the Sun remain without the injured Marina Mabrey.
  • Clark, who injured her right groin during a June 15 win over the Sun, will miss a second straight game. She strained her left groin earlier this season and also missed time due to a strained left quad. The injuries have limited the Fever star to 13 games this season after not missing any during the 2024 campaign. Aari McDonald replaced Clark in the starting lineup for Indiana’s July 16 loss to the Liberty and should take on the point guard duties in Tuesday’s rematch.
  • Jones said before New York’s final game prior to the All-Star break, a July 16 win over the Fever, that she expected to be available when the teams met again on July 22. That’s how things have played out, with the Liberty submitting a clean injury report. Averaging a team-best 9.6 rebounds per game on the season, Jones has been out since suffering a second ankle injury during a June 19 game against the Mercury. While her return may push Nyara Sabally to the bench, fantasy managers should not expect Jones to take on a full workload in her first game back.
  • While the Liberty officially signed Stephanie Talbot on Monday, the reports that the team has also landed Meeseman may be more impactful in the team’s pursuit of a second consecutive WNBA title. Despite having last played in the league in 2022 as a member of the Mystics, the 6-foot-4 forward has long been one of the best players in the world. After another stellar season playing for Fenerbahce in Turkey, Meeseman helped lead Belgium to the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket title earlier this summer. According to Philippou, Meeseman also considered Minnesota and Phoenix. When she can join the Liberty will depend on the speed of the visa application process. Still, Meeseman will give the Liberty another talented option to call upon in the frontcourt.
  • Talbot will fill out the Liberty’s 12 person roster for now as the Liberty previously waived second year guard Marquesha Davis prior to themidpoint deadline. She takes the roster spot of Davis, a player who struggled to crack the Liberty’s rotation. Talbot has familiarity with Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello, who drafted her into the WNBA and then coached her not only on the Phoenix Mercury but also on the Australian National team. Talbot is a switchable wing who will join the Liberty’s rotation as a player able to guard the two through four positions while also stretching the floor and adding some playmaking. This combination is one that the Liberty have missed with Betnijah Laney-Hamilton being sidelined for the entire season after tearing her meniscus earlier this year.
  • Clark injured her groin during Indiana’s penultimate game before the All-Star break and did not participate in All-Star Weekend activities in Indianapolis. With this being her third lower-body injury of the season, one can expect Indiana to exercise significant caution with its star point guard. Sophie Cunningham moved into the starting lineup for the Fever’s loss to New York in the final game before the break, and Lexie Hull is another possible option to step in for Clark.
  • Diggins’ 15 assists established a new All-Star Game record as part of a sublime triple-double performance. The 34-year-old guard found her Seattle Storm teammate Nneka Ogumike for four of her 15 dimes, while also dishing out another three assists to All-Star MVP Award recipient Napheesa Collier. Diggins and Collier both broke WNBA records on one individual play that occurred with 5:32 left in the fourth quarter. Diggins notched her 12th assist on a pass to Collier that then created her final points which allowed her to pass Arike Ogunbowale’s 34-point All-Star game scoring record.
