Sponsor a National Academies’ Project

Collaborate with the National Academies to tackle the issues that mean the most to your organization or community. We bring together leading experts in their fields to provide insights that can make a lasting impact.

Activities Designed to Meet Your Needs

Sponsors may choose from a variety of projects or activities to support or meet their needs, including the following:

Consensus Studies

By sponsoring a consensus study, you can tap into the power of independent, evidence-based research to drive meaningful change. Our study committees produce reports that distill complex information into actionable insights, providing a clear path forward for policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders.

Consensus/Advisory Activity

Workshops

Our workshops provide a unique opportunity for experts and other stakeholders to come together, share insights, and examine issues in depth. By sponsoring a workshop, you can help facilitate conversations, foster collaboration, and accelerate solutions.

Meeting of Experts

The National Academies can also bring together selected subject-matter experts — acting in their individual capacities and not as a committee — to inform sponsors on the latest research and understanding on critical topics.

Rapid Expert Consultations

Rapid expert consultations provide sponsors with formal and timely insights from subject-matter experts that address urgent, narrowly focused questions. They do not include consensus findings, conclusions, or recommendations.

Issue Papers

Issue papers offer an opportunity for experts to develop a quick, timely, and targeted publication on a specific topic. They do not include consensus findings, conclusions, or recommendations.

Advance Knowledge and Inform Action Through Strategic Convening

Standing Committees

Our standing committees focus on a specific topic where subject-matter experts serve as a source of independent, long-range insights and provide information to communicate existing and emerging challenges and opportunities.

Roundtables and Forums

We bring together leaders from government, industry, academia, and other stakeholder groups to discuss pressing issues of mutual interest in a collaborative and neutral setting. This ongoing dialogue helps build trust, foster innovation, and inform decision making.

Action Collaboratives

By convening a body of key stakeholders with shared interests and responsibilities, we support the exchange of strategies and practices to advance progress and collective action in defined topic areas.

Empower Talent and Advance Progress

Grants and Contract Programs

These programs provide funding to individuals or organizations to support research, capacity building, or other defined activities in the fields of science, engineering, or medicine.

Fellowships and Associateships

By sponsoring a fellowship or other professional development programs, you can contribute to the future scientific, technical, and health workforce. These programs offer a range of opportunities and experiences that promote innovative study across disciplines, boost professional growth, and develop understanding of science policy.

Award and Competition Programs

The National Academies present a number of awards to recognize outstanding individual achievements in science, engineering, medicine, and more.

Expand the Reach of Science and Knowledge

Seminars, Webinars, and Lectures

Our seminars, webinars, and lectures cover a major topic of interest to the scientific community and host leading experts from government, private industry, and academia to participate in presentations and panel discussions.

Educational and Outreach Activities

We offer a range of programs designed to educate, train, or promote the understanding of science, engineering, health, or related domains among a variety of audiences, including practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
